Top tips to help you through your lesson observations

As you know the final placement season for PGCE students is approaching and with it, your lesson observations will become more frequent and more significant. Obviously it can get very easy to forget the basics when you're being observed - even more so now there is so much focus on children's learning in a single lesson - but the way you handle the classroom issues can make the difference between success and almost kicking yourself in the teeth.

How Class People gave me the opportunities to gain more experience

During my final weeks of my PGCE Primary course, I started to apply for positions in both key stages. My second application resulted in an interview at a school that had earned a reputation of being tough for teachers. However, I was not offered the job but was given the opportunity to work as a supply teacher for a seven week term covering PPA and supporting the new teacher with behavioural strategies.
