Who we are

Class People are an independent supply teaching recruitment agency providing supply teachers, teaching assistants, tutors, SEN staff and early years practitioners to schools and settings across the South West.

What we do

We match education professionals with opportunities in schools and other settings across the full span of the curriculum, age groups and abilities for day-to-day cover, long-term roles and permanent vacancies.

Our values

Empathy

Having worked in education ourselves, we wholeheartedly understand the constantly changing and growing challenges teachers and other educational staff face in the school environment every day.

Equally, however, we know and share in all the joys and triumphs that primary and secondary teaching jobs have to offer! We’re therefore expertly placed to work alongside you and support you in your role.

High Performance

Whatever your goals as an education professional, we will work tirelessly to help you achieve them through our high-quality services.

We have a demonstratable number of skills among our team and promote a positive and collaborative working environment in which we strive to always do our best – and we have a plethora of awards and nominations to prove it!

Integrity

The level honesty and determination that you can expect from Class People, right from the moment we meet with you, goes a long way to demonstrate how we are recognised regionally as an agency with a "difference."

Our mission

Be The First-Choice Education Recruiter in the South West.

Where did we begin?

The company was launched in 2002 as a lifestyle business by former supply teacher, Lynis Bassett, from her living room in Gloucester.

After Lynis experienced supply teaching through one of the country’s “big corporate” education recruitment agencies and found that it left much to be desired, her vision for Class People was to provide:

  • A better deal for both supply teachers and local schools
  • A more personal and tailored service
  • An increase in the quality of supply teaching

We are education professionals that learned recruitment; not recruiters that learned education.

Where are we now?

Since its humble beginnings, Class People has boomed and flourished; the company today has seventeen employees and covers six counties (Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Avon, Worcestershire and Devon).
