Ignite Your Career with Worcester Teaching Jobs | Class People

Worcester

We launched our Worcestershire Class People office in September 2015.

We’ve worked really hard over the last few years to find our feet in this wonderful county, and needless to say, our team have stuck right in to build partnerships between the amazing schools and education professionals in the area – with finding Worcester teaching jobs for these talented individuals right at the top of the list!

So... why become a teacher in Worcester?

Firstly, for the aspiring teacher, Worcester offers many fantastic opportunities.

...not only for pupils learning and development, but for your personal and social aspirations, too!

The Love Worcester festival, which takes place in February half term, is a wonderful celebration of Worcester’s heritage, and offers a huge variety of activities for children and adults.

As one of England’s most magnificent and inspiring buildings (and oldest, being founded in 680AD), Worcester Cathedral is a spectacle in itself, and even has a centre of learning available with an exciting new programme of educational events and activities that teachers from the city’s brilliant local schools can take their pupils to.

For History teachers, Worcester is a truly special place; from the Battle of Worcester in 1651 between Oliver Cromwell and King Charles II to the Black Country Museum just a few miles up the road.

Worcester also has its own Literature Festival for the English/Literacy teachers and lovers out there.

But it doesn’t end there; while Worcester’s Music Festival brings the city to life in September, for music teachers, it’s certainly worth mentioning that the composer Edward Elgar was born in the city!
What’s more, City Art Gallery and Museum, Tudor House Museum, George Marshall Medical Museum among others are truly inspiring.

Oh, and if you’re a Food Tech teacher, their Worcestershire sauce is certainly worth a mention! So, whatever area of the curriculum you teach in, Worcester teaching jobs really do give you the opportunity to expand your teaching practice and make your pupils’ learning truly exciting.

What’s more, the educational structure in Worcestershire is different compared to other counties.

Firstly, it offers the opportunity for secondary school teachers to also work in primary schools, and secondly, it allows primary school teachers to specialise in subjects in middle schools. As a result, choosing to teach in this area can provide a lot of variety!

What’s more, the university is particularly well-regarded for its PGCE course, and Worcestershire county also offers among the most competitive rates of pay for supply teachers, making it a wonderful place to consider embarking upon a supply career.

Plus, Worcester offers a fantastic quality of life outside the classroom

As well as its many educational opportunities, Worcester has a great nightlife, including cool, independent bars and cosy pubs (and not forgetting the CAMRA Beer, Cider & Perry Festival in August, which is a favourite among locals and visitors alike)!

For those who prefer quieter leisures and opportunities to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Spetchley Park Gardens, Worcester Woods Country Park and Gheluvelt Park are as beautiful as they are tranquil.

What’s more, the Malvern Hills – registered as an area of outstanding natural beauty – is a mere 10 miles down the road for those who love hiking and mountain biking.

Let’s get your teaching career search underway!

With all of the above in mind, it’s easy to see why education professionals are eager to apply for Worcester teaching jobs. If this sounds like you, simply complete the form above, register with us here or start your job search here, and we'll be sure to find your ideal role in next to no time!
